Frozen potato products, ready meals, kebab platters, and the chambers behind half a freezer aisle.
A consumer who picks up a melted ice cream tub once does not pick up that brand again for a year. We hold and move frozen potato products and frozen consumer foods to the spec that protects the second purchase.
What frozen potato and consumer foods looks like at Colden.
Frozen potato products are the headline vertical at Mehsana. The facility sits 500 metres behind the McCain Foods processing plant and 5 km from HyFun Foods, which puts the cold storage on the right side of the raw-material-to-storage corridor for french fries, hash browns, and frozen parathas. The three-chamber design lets us dedicate chamber capacity to a brand or batch when the volume calls for it, and the movable rack high-density storage system keeps FEFO pulls quick. Beyond frozen potato, the same chambers hold ice cream, paneer-based ready meals, and frozen kebabs for brands selling into national modern trade. SKUs are slotted by spec, not by category, so the lane that holds the product was sized for the product.

Storage
One facility, three chambers, 8,400 pallet positions on a movable rack high-density storage system, single setpoint at -18 degrees C. We slot inventory by velocity and code-date in the Logistix WMS so picks stay quick, doors stay shut, and dwell stays low.

Storage and transport are the spine. Value-added is where the product gets ready for the shelf, the website, or the inspector. We run it in-line with the Logistix WMS so the cold chain never breaks for a label swap.

“Cold storage 500 metres behind our plant, on a single setpoint, with conveyor-fed inbound and a 50+ reefer yard, was the easiest part of our outbound logistics decision.”
