Inside the Mehsana cold room
Technology

One operating model, end to end.

Moving rack high-density storage from Polaris. WMS, TMS, and customer portal from Tundra. An ammonia plant tuned for one setpoint. Telematics on every trailer.

The stack

Six pieces, all on one floor.

Moving rack high-density storage

Polaris Automation designed and installed the moving rack system at the Mehsana facility. 8,400 pallet positions on the same envelope a static rack would have given us about 7,000. Rated for continuous duty at -18 degrees C.

8,400 pallet positions

Single-setpoint ammonia plant

Natural refrigerant. One temperature. No cycled chiller, no glycol loop. The compressors run leaner because they never see a warm cycle, and the plant has a 17-year design life on the screws.

-18 degrees C, plus or minus 0.5 degree drift

WMS, TMS, and customer portal

Tundra Tech runs the WMS, the TMS, and the customer portal. Developers embedded on the Mehsana operations floor. Customers see the data we see, in the same screen we do, at the same time.

One operating system end to end

Telematics on every reefer

60-second telematics ping on every company reefer and every trusted partner trailer. Gen-set hours logged per box, trailer pre-cool documented at dispatch and validated at the seal.

60 seconds, every trailer

Excursion paging

Independent monitoring on the GDP vault with 90-second excursion alerts paging on-call ops. Dual-utility power, N+1 redundancy on the pharma envelope.

90 seconds, paged

Heat recovery and solar (in design)

Condenser heat reused for office HVAC and wash bay hot water. Glacier Energy scoping a 2.4 MW DC rooftop solar array under a 15-year PPA. Commissioning 2027.

0.6 GWh per year recovered

Software

Tundra Tech runs the WMS, TMS, and customer portal.

Engineering

Polaris Automation engineered the moving rack.
